If you are an active greeter seeking scheduling information, follow the link Here. Or, if you need to call someone to cover for you at a scheduled service date, you can look up names and numbers of your fellow greeters on the Liturgical Ministry Roster. This page requires a password, in order to protect the privacy of those who have their numbers on the list. If you do not know the password, try calling one of your fellow ministers, or call the church office at 843-873-0631 and ask for Tom at extension 21. The Greeter Ministry is one of the simplest liturgical ministries, and yet it is one of the most important. How important are first impressions? Conventional wisdom says that they are strong and lasting. It is critical that we welcome every person as he or she enters the door of our church. Welcoming is one of our core values at St. John the Beloved.

Being a greeter requires almost no sacrifice on the part of the minster. All you have to do is show up about fifteen minutes early to Mass, stand at the door and offer a sincere, friendly greeting to each person, and offer them a worship leaflet.

At the end of Mass, you hand out the bulletins, and offer each person a friendly farewell. All you need to be successful is a genuine respect and concern for the people of this parish. If you are interested in becoming a greeter, please fill out the request form at the bottom of this page.
