Outreach for the Hungry
Our Outreach for the Hungry program is primarily a partnership with an inner city church in Charleston, SC. Neighborhood house feeds large numbers of poor and marginalized people on a daily basis. We have two teams who prepare food and travel to Charleston to serve it. Each team serves once each month. This is an excellent example of a ministry which combines the stewardship of time, talent, and treasure. Food is provided by parishioners, and volunteers prepare and serve the meals. Our parish also collects food to help supply the trident United Way's food pantry here in Summerville. Both of these are excellent examples of street-level Christian ministry.
